QR verification of the power of attorney

Why this verification is required

Fraud and misuse of transport documents present an increasing risk within the logistics chain. To reduce this risk and protect all parties involved, TransConnect uses QR verification for powers of attorney.

This verification ensures that vehicles are released only to a carrier who is authorised for the order at that specific moment.

How the verification works

Each power of attorney includes:

  • a unique QR code;
  • a PIN code for manual verification.

Before vehicles are released, the loading location scans the QR code using a smartphone.

After scanning, one of the following outcomes is shown.

Valid ✅

The carrier is authorised to collect the vehicles.

The confirmation screen displays key order details, including:

  • the driver’s name;
  • the vehicle registration number;
  • the destination.

Invalid ❌

The power of attorney is no longer valid, for example because the order has been cancelled.

In this situation, the vehicles must not be released. The loading location is instructed to contact TransConnect before proceeding.

If scanning is not possible, the PIN code can be used to manually verify the order details.

When a QR code becomes invalid

A QR code automatically becomes invalid when:

  • an order is cancelled;
  • the carrier no longer has active authorisation for the order.

This prevents outdated, copied, or revoked powers of attorney from being reused.

Who this verification is for

QR verification is intended for:

  • loading locations that release vehicles to drivers;
  • carriers carrying out transport orders via TransConnect.

No prior experience with TransConnect is required. The verification process provides immediate clarity:

  • a scan shows whether the power of attorney is valid;
  • vehicles should only be released after valid confirmation.

Questions or uncertainty

If there is any doubt about the validity of a power of attorney, or if an error message appears after scanning, please contact TransConnect before releasing any vehicles.
